Taskbar Not Working

Running XP home, has worked fine for many months, no new software or changes
made since I've noticed this problem:

when I select a window from the taskbar, nothing happens.

I have to minimize each window until I get the one that I want.

Rebooting does help, but it doesn't take long at all for this error to
recur, and it happens with only a few windows open.

Does anyone know how to fix this error?

Thanks,

Chris

Taskbar Repair Tool Plus!

Thanks, Unk, I found that site about the time you were posting. However, the
results are mixed so far.

I downloaded 'TaskbarRepairToolPlus!' and ran the fix for 'minimized
programs missing,' which looked like the closest description to the problem
I'm having. It worked for a few minutes, then the error returned. It also
hid my quick launch bar, which I had to re-display (wonder if that could be
the problem? Can't live without it, though!)

I then went to the 'tweaks' section of Kelly's site, went to line #240, and
d/l and ran the 'xbtaskbarfixall' program. It also has 'fixed' the issue and
also hid the quick launch section. We'll see if the fix lasts.

Thanks,

Chris

Post back with the results. :)

Well, it seems this 'fix' was short-lived. It's been acting up again.

Anyone have any further ideas? The whole 'windows' concept is a bit
shattered if it's difficult to actually get to the windows!
