All of a sudden, I cannot see all of my programs in the taskbar when I click
on the green "start" button on the bottom left of the taskbar.

What i mean is if you click on "start", then go to "All Programs" you get to
see your programs. The list fills the visible page, but there is no longer
the option to scroll to the ones that do not initially show. For me it ends
at "Stamps.com" but there are many other program groups and then individual
programs. How do I get this old view back?

Thanks for your help.

With the Classic Start Menu, both of these need to be UNChecked.
XP Start Menu doesn't have Use Personalized Menus option.

XP Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button | Advanced tab |
Scroll down to and UNCheck:
Scroll Programs * |
Click OK | Click Apply | Click OK

Classic Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button |
Scroll down to and UNCheck both of these:
Scroll Programs * |
Use Personalized Menus **
Click OK | Click Apply | Click OK

[*Specifies whether to display the items on the Programs menu as one long
scrolling menu or as horizontal pages. Depending on your screen resolution,
if you have more than 29 or 38 programs installed, and you select to have
one long scrolling menu, you can access the programs you don’t see
by clicking the arrow at each end of the list of programs.]

[**Specifies whether to turn on Personalized Menus.
Personalized Menus keeps the Programs menu clean by hiding items you haven't
used recently, while still keeping other programs easily accessible. You
can gain access to hidden programs by clicking the down arrow at the bottom
of the Programs menu.]

Wesley - this works for the Classic menu but for the XP Start Menu it does
not. I went in and checked that "Scroll Programs" was unchecked. I checked
and then unchecked it. When checked it works as one would expect. When
unchecked you see as many programs as it takes to fill the view on the screen
but no ability to go beyond that... this is very odd. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

You're post is unclear. What exactly do you mean by "you see as many
programs as it takes to fill the view on the screen...". The most with
the XP start menu that will display is three columns. If it's showing
three columns and you have more programs to display, then create some
program groups (folders) and move items into these folders to decrease
the display size.

Rock - after the 3 columns there used to be the ability to scroll over
further and see the rest of the programs beyond the 3 columns. This seems to
have disappeared. that is what I am trying to figure out.

:

I have never seen that. In the XP start menu, without the Scroll
Programs option checked, it shows a max of three columns. With the
Scroll Programs option checked it shows one column with the scroll arrow
at the bottom.
