Greetings,

Check your pc for spyware:

"
Try these programs to check for any spyware that may be on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Try SpyWareBlaster to stop intrusions:

Thanks and best of luck!

Does it also exhibit these exact same set of problems when booting in Safe
Mode (without network support)? Tap your F8 key about 2 times per second
during a power-up to get the menu that will let you get into Safe Mode. Need
to know the answer to that question, else I'd have to write a book about
possible solutions. :)

My feeling is that your networking could be broken, and if so then that's
what's probably causing the long delays; but I'm not sure just quite yet. It
could be an infection, too (and by your symptoms that is what I suspect is
really the root cause of your problems). Was your antivirus fully up to date
and had it been run in that fully updated condition just before this
happened? Had you obtained the latest versions of, configured, and updated
and then ran Spybot Search & Destroy and Adaware-6? If you suspect an
infection, check out the microsoft.public.security.virus newsgroup (search
it before posting), there are lots of well informed experts and post-victims
(!) there who donate their time trying to help people in that manner. A
quick fix for an infection could be to put the HDD into another computer and
check it with a fully updated antivirus.
