Hi Alan,

The taskbar at the bottom of the screen can contain several different
toolbars - Quick Launch, Address/URL, etc - and the "minimised programs" is
just one of these. It's possible that you've inadvertently moved it so that
it's too small to be visible.
Right-click on the task bar and ensure that in the context menu "Lock the
Taskbar" is unchecked, then look for the "handle" of the minimised programs
bar (handles, in the default XP theme, look like small vertical bars of
checkerboard pixels). It may be over at the right-hand end of the taskbar,
next to the system tray/clock area - that's one possible reason why you
wouldn't see it. Once you've found it, try dragging it to be more visible.

I hope this helps..?

Alan,
