Task Tray Items Don't Load Right

When my computer boots up, it seems to have a problem
loading the 6 or so items that should display in the task
bar. Sometimes one or more icon won't show up but the
program is running and usually at least one fails to
start giving the "the program encountered a problem and
will terminate" error.

Once it's through with the bootup all other programs will
start and operate fine.

I've tried turning various startup programs off and have
as many services disabled as I've read that I don't need
but it doesn't seem to have any effect. It seems like
all the startup programs are fighting to start and some
just don't make it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I run XP Pro on a P4 1.8GHz, 80gb HD, 512MB RAM.
