Task Scheduler - missing tabs

Hi,

I can see and run the Task Scheduler from the control panel. But in XPe if
I open a scheduled task I am missing 2 tabs that show up in XP Pro - "Task"
and "Schedule". Instead I have a "Security" tab, that I don't have in Pro.

Can anybody tell me what is missing in the build. Thanks.
Regards, Dan

Hi KM,

I already have that key in the registry. The Task Scheduler runs ok in XPe,
its just missing 2 tabs, I would like to have the "Schedule" tab. Apparently
its something else. Checking dependencies did not find any missing
dependencies here.

Dan,

Sorry, I haven't seen that problem.

You may probably want to analyze all the related logs availble to you
(FBALog, Event Viewer logs) to see if anything related is in there.
Also, try using Regmon/Filemon tools from www.sysinternals.com.

As far as I remember, MSTask object requires
{CC2A9BA0-3BDD-11D0-821E-444553540000} guid being present in the Installed
components in registry. The GUID (registration) comes with IE. Do you have
Internet Explorer component presented in your image?

Hi,

The {CC2A9BA0-3BDD-11D0-821E-444553540000} guid is present.
Internet Explorer is present.

I looked at a previous build. There all the 3 expected tabs appear. Since
then I applied QFE Q841873 that was released in July. Maybe its related to
that?

Hi Dan,

I don't have a good idea for you.
But you seem to be close to uncover the problem source yourself (Q841873).
I don't have this QFE installed on my db here. You may want to check the runtime without the QFE to see if the issue appeared
because of the QFE.

Hi Dan,
Is it possible to uninstall a QFE once its installed in the XPe database?
If component is created correctly then answer is yes.

Go to Component Database Manager -> Package Select the one with appropriate number Push delete package.

For this to work you must be in exclusive mode (all applications closed that access DB).

Best regards,
Slobodan

Dan,

As Slobodan already mentioned, just go to CDM (Exclusive Mode) and delete either the Hotfix component or corresponding package.
