I saw a similar post on my very problem earlier today, but now I can't find
it. So, I am making a new post. I am trying to use a program that requires
Task Scheduler to work properly. The problem is that Task Scheduler isn't
working. I get this error message when I create a task:

"The new task has been created, but may not run because the account
information could not be set. The specific error is:0x8007007a: The data
error passed to a system call is too small."

I have been to the support link -
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;264522, followed the
info, and still nothing works. I can't imagine that simply starting and
stoping the scheduler then waiting 10 to 15 minutes to try again would work.
Of course, it didn't.

How can I fix this problem? Nothing seems to work. I have XP home edition
and XP SP2 is installed. I also have the password and username step
functional and am an administrator. Alas, nothing is working to solve the
problem. Can anyone help me??

Thanks,
Nick

I also went into the folder where the scheduled tasks are and found three
tasks for McAfee. They have never been done. The first one was supposed to
start 9/11/2003. I get this when I double click on the task:

"General page initialization failed. The specific error is: 0x80070534: No
mapping between account names and security IDs was done. An error has
occurred attempting to retrieve task account information. You may continue
editing the task object, but will be unable to change task account
information."

What is that about? Can that be causing my other problem, below??
