Task scheduler/critical update ...again :-(

It's playing up again.

Task scheduler has appeared on my systray, I can puse it but I can't open
it, as I was going to unistall it.

I also cannot uninstall Windoows Update, I get the error

wucrtupd.inf

is missing.

I don't know what has caused this, it may be recent shell swapping on 98
lite, but there seems to be no way to reinstall it so I can uninstall.

I guess I could do a windows reinstall, but that means SO much cleaning up
<ugh>

Can anyone tell me a quick and dirty way out of this, or even a smooth and
slick one, please

Oh Gawd, apologies all,

I meant to post that elsewhere.

Teach me to get on line in the am before I'm conscious.

(Matron says it's hard to tell when that starts)
