Task manager

I think my task manager isn't working as a result of
getting the worm virus. I can't open the Task
Manager. I've tried 3 different methods. What happens is
that the Task Manager opens for a second or so, then
closes again. Sometimes it doesn't even open, but there
is a little green box on the task bar which disappears
when I hover over it. I downloaded and completed the fix
from the Microsoft website however; the broken task
manager seems to be the only remaining problem. Any
suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks.

w32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

Try this to:

Rename regedit.exe to regedit.com then:

Download then Merge the edit on line 251 then delete all the files mentioned
in the above link.
