I have two laptops with XP Home.

On one when I open Task Manager I get several tabs that allow me to see lots
of things. Onthe other I get just one tab.

I guess this si because I did not set myself up as admnistrator. Could that
be it? and what do I do to become one?

Thank you

do you see actually one tab with a name, or do you hav a screen that
shows just task and status, and you have the option to end task, swtich
to or new task?
If the later, you have task manager in full screen mode, if you double
click on the grey sorounding the screen, it should switch to tab mode,
and you should now have tabs, and drop down menu options.

As for the administrator, you need to be in the adminstrators group, so
someone who is already an admin needs to logon to the machine, then go
to Manage un My computer, then Users and groups, and in the group
administrators, they need to add your local or network account.
