Task manager will not open me. whether I press ctrl-alt-
dlt or I right-click the task bar and click the task
manager item, or click thw icon in the start menu, It
wont happen. Often times it will bring up a little green
on black grid icon in my task bar, but nothing will come
up, and when i put my cursor over it, it disapears. any
ideas?

Be extremely wary of "on-line virus scans". they may be
simply waiting for you to try them and stick a virus on
your computer. I have seen incidents of this if the site
being visited is a fake site. your best line of defense
is to purchase a virus scanner of your own and USE it.
If you don't have one - get one.
