hi all,
can someone please help me enabling task manager. I am
running WINDOWS XP professional and when I press
CTRL+ALT+DEL, it doesnt open task manager window instead
gives message "Task Manager has been disabled by your
administrator". It doesnt even appear active on the menu
when I right click empty area of task bar. I have not
done anything that I am aware of. I had only one
administrator account and shared with friends.
I would appreciate your reply. Thanks.

This is of no help to you, however I am getting the same
problem with Windows XP Home Edition but only since I got
notified by Norton Virus checker that it detected a virus
on my PC (as explained in my earlier post).

I had the same problem with XP Home Edition as well. Just
like the other reply you received, I too had a virus. I
couldn't access the Task Manager for a few months,
whether I right-click the task bar and selected it, or if
I used ctrl-alt-delete, or if I use ctrl-shift-ESC
(another way).
Finally, I was rid of the problem when I cleaned my
system of its virus.
