Hi,

Got that problem where the Task Manager doesn't load. It'll disappear after
about a second and an icon will appear in the system tray but that's it.
So, I did some searching and I'm not the only person with prob. Appears it
might be due to either spyware, a virus/trojan or a/another. I downloaded
HiJackIt and performed a scan which did list a number of spurios entries. I
then did a full virus check, plus 2 adaware scans, one a deep scan on the
C:\ which again found some unwanted stuff so they got quarantined. Problem
I have now is that Internet Explorer will fail to work. No home page or any
other site appears. OK in safe mode, and I'm also able to ping sites, ie,
google, bbc.

Please help.

If you have SP2, scroll down to >>

Ignore the title, this applies for any apyware remover!

After you run Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta), you have network-related

Try this...

If you right click Task Manager's icon in the Notification Area do you see
two options?
Close and Always on top? If you see the Close option, Task Manager *is*
running.

It may be in it's tiny footprint mode and minimized all the way.

Open Task Manager even if you can't see it.
Right click the Task Manager icon and select: Aways on Top.
Close or minimize everything that's open so you can see your Desktop.
Look for a 1/2" x 1 1/2" or so box and double click it.
