Task Manager Starts Up and Shut Down

If I start my Task Manager, it starts up normally and then immediately
shuts down.

Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this problem?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I was able to rename the programs and they appear to work ok. I was
not able to find the program NETSTATT.exe on any of the system. I
updated teh Norton Antivirus 2005 software and was not able to detect
or correct the virus. Any other suggestions that I might be able to
try?

The type of behavior you describe is typical behavior of more than
one virus/worm, the three below being the most common:

I have tried all of these methods and still cannot get the Task Manager
and MSCONFIG start and hold. Tonight, I was tryinf to turn off Windows
Messenger and found that if I started Control Panel- Performance and
Maintenance-Admin Tools-Services, Same effect. It goes down as quick as
it starts. I have run Spy BOT, Bazooka and Norton AV. Also the pop
ups have started hitting quickly and as soon as you shut down one, two
more pop up.

Any suggestion

Pls Advise
