Task manager help needed

When I open tast manager all I get is a large window
listing what tasks are presently running, the normal tabed
box is unavailable, and therre is no way for me to switch
back to the normal view.

Also I cannot close the Task window once open. I can
Minimize it, but the only way to close it is to reboot the
puter.

How can I return the task manager to the default tabbed
box?

Try double clicking on the edge of Task Manager.
