I have just replaced my motherboard from a siemens to a Abit IC7-Max III. When I booted up I installed all the drivers including Intel Chipset/SATA/LAN/1394 etc..
My task bar won't appear at the bottom of the screen, the waiting cursor appears if you place the cursor over it. I can still access all my programs via my computer on the desktop but just not the task bar, start menu. It is as if there is a conflict somewhere.
If I reinstall the network driver and don't reboot it appears and works correctly. So I thought it may be a conflict here, until i removed the onboard lan in my bios and restarted, it still won't appear. I have tried removing my onboard 1394 also with no joy..
Any help would be appreciated, before I have to reinstall XP (AGAIN!!)

Taskbar Is Missing When You Log On to Windows

Are you sure you don't have "Auto-Hide" selected in the start menu? Right-click
start, properties, taskbar tab.
