task bar problems

Some how, my taskbar (start,and all my other "buttons")
are now on the right side (vertically) of my window rather
than across the bottom. I don't know how or why this
happened, but I would like to redo it to the way it was...
any suggestions?

Click on a free space on the Taskbar and hold down the left mouse
button. Drag the bar downwards until it snaps in at the bottom of the
screen.
