Heres the deal. I installed a program. Prior to installing the program
windows created a system restore point. Prior to installation of the program
my win xp sp2 box was working fine. Now my start bar is non-existant.

It not just hidden either, it's simply has gone away. Pressing the windows
key on the keyboard does nothing! I checked to make sure it didn't get moved
or pinned to the left, right, or top of the screen. It just isn't there any
more. The only way I can run any programs is to hit ctrl-alt-del and go into
the task man and click on Run New Task.

Pressing Win key + R doesn't bring up the run dialog. If I try to go into
taskmanager and start a new task to bring up a folder it will bring the start
bar back for about 1 second and then flash on the screen and disappear and
never open the folder. Example Open Taskman - Click on FILE - NEW TASK
c:\Program Files

Instead of it brining up the folder contents it just flashes the start bar.

I restored back to the system restore point with no success. I am at a loss
as to why it shows for a couple seconds and then disappears.

Please HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!

I tried that program and it didn't work. I ran norton anti-virus and it
didn't find anything. I ran it in safe mode.

I ran AdAware and it fixed the problem after running it on each of my xp
login accounts.

Thanks everyone :-)
