Task Assignment Deletion

Hello All!
My name is Dan, I'm new to this group and have a problem that I think is
unique, but hopefully not too unique for the experts in this group.
The problem is that I cannot respond to in any way, or delete a task request
which was sent to me by my business partner. When I try to take any action
on the item an error message is returned. The error message is; "Can't open
this item! Outlook cannot do this action on this type of attachment".
Has anyone seen this?
