How much RAM do you have installed? TD needs 200-250 MB of its own, on top
of what windows and background applications already use before you start
it.

My rule of thumb is to add more memory if the peak commit charge in task
manager comes close to (or increases above) the amount of installed RAM.
The system isn't trashing yet at that point, but there's less memory left
for disk cache, and that has its impact on performance too.

A fast processor helps too, but you won't benefit from it with insufficient
memory.

RAM. Lots of it. Or it'll crash and corrupt your .slx file. Oh, and check
for spyware. I was given a laptop to work on and the thing was being a
nightmare, adaware and spybot found over 300 items.

i have 512mb and 2.4ghz cpu i used to test XPe and it worked very fast
now i after and formated and reinstalled i had that problem
i think some components i add made the procces slow...
thanks for the help anyway

My Rule of thumb with XPE> 1GB at least of RAM... The CD is about 600 MB by
itself... at the point of install. makes it nice to be able to cache the
whole DB into RAM... seems to make all play better together. :-)
