When I start up the PC a message appears on the desk top
as follows: Monitor Start: Unable to set Talkback hook.

What is this and how do I correct? God-Forbid my
Talkback hook should not be set! Thanks Novice

Talkback is not a part of Windows. It's something that has been added to
the system. A search at www.google.com shows several possibilities: a
text-to-speech program, audio software and some spyware. Figure out what
you have on your system that goes by the name of "talkback" and work from
there.

If you are not sure what this is and since there is the possibility of
spyware, check in Windows\Downloaded Programs and in Add/Remove Programs
for an addon that goes by this name. If found, you can uninstall from
either of these locations (in Downloaded Programs, right click on the
object and select Delete.) Also, using an updated AdAware or "Spybot Search
and Destroy" to scan the system is also a reasonable step to try.
