Hi

Is there a way for a win xp laptop user to easily copy documents off a
server and then get them updated on the server once he is back and connected
to the network? Is there something in win xp that does that or a third party
utility is available to do this?

Thanks

Regards

Briefcase does what you are asking to do automatically once set up. Click
Start, Help and type in briefcase. Read all about it. Make sure that you
don't just delete the folder on the laptop prior to breaking the briefcase
connection according to the instructions. You could lose all data on both
systems if not done correctly but if you follow the instructions carefully,
it is a great way to syncronize data.

There is a costly solution also. If you buy Power Desk Pro, it has a folder
syncronizer that will do this manually.

You can try Offline Files
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/gomobile/offlinefiles.asp)
but this will only work if you have a Windows XP Pro machine...
