Tables in powerpoint

I created a table in powerpoint and the lines in the table are showing up as
dashes and not a solid black line. I've tried going to the borders section
of formatting the table to make sure a solid line style type is selected and
it is, but it's still showing up as dashes, does anyone know how I can fix
this or why powerpoint is doing this to the table. Please let me know.

Go ahead and check again - this time "reapply" the solid line setting (even
if it looks like you've already done it. What happens?
