I have created a form with drop-downs and tables. However, when I open the template, the table is protected and the receiver is unable to get into the table to fill it out

How can I unprotect the table inserted using the Forms tool so that the receiver can enter data?

Only the 3 field types that you can place in the document from the Form toolbar can be edited--the table is just a regualr ol' table, just like the ones you insert from the Standard Toolbar or the Table menu
If you want people to be able to edit the table when you protect the form, it needs to in a separate Section. Check out the Section Break types listed in the Insert Menu--choose Break
When you Protect the document using the Tools|Protect option, you can choose which Sections to Protect

tj

Alternatively, you put text form fields in the table where you want people
to be able to insert data.
