Table Simple 1 Autoformat Stays Green Word 2003

I llike the basic layout of this autoformat, but it didn't used to be green.
So, edit it to black, right? Wrong. It will NOT stay black, always
reverting to that icky green. I have tried changing the existing autoformat;
creating a new one based on the old; selecting the lines by hand and applying
black to replace green. Simple, right? Wrong. It still goes back to green.

Any ideas?

A guess:

Select the table, select auto-format and clear the check box for
Color. Select ok. You should now be able to color your table by hand
instead of the provided autoformat overriding.
