I have a legal document that has 50 financial pages at end that need to start
at page A-1 through to A-50. How do I set this up so that the A- shows when I
create a table of contents.

Hi Swedish
1] First do the pagination:
Click on Insert menu on the menu bar and to go>Page Numbers,
select position and alignment and click on Format to decide your specific
number format and specify that from what page number to start....

Your pagination for legal pages may start at 1 to ... 49 and you can start
pagination for financial pages from A-1 to A-50
2] Later navigate to Insert>Reference>Index and Tables and set your table of
content options.....

By doing this you should be able to get thru.

Thank you
Shanks

Insert a section break before the pages in question. In the newly created
section, add the following SEQ field: { SEQ test \* ALPHABETIC \r 1 }. To
create the field delimiters, { }, press Ctrl+F9; then type the code as
shown. Use F9 to update. Format the field as hidden or in white color so
that it doesn't print.

Display the TOC field code and add \s "test" to it. Press F9 to update; if
prompted, choose to update the entire table.

You can show/hide the field codes in a document by pressing Alt+F9.

Unlink the header (or footer) where you want to insert the page number.
Insert the page number. Before the page number, type "A-".
