Hi there. Using A02 on XP. Have a field in my table with
AutoNumber that is indexed with no duplicates. Don't know
how it happened but when I try to append a record there is
a key violation. When I looked into it, I see that my
current high number is 10154 but when I add new, the
autonum tries to assign 9765. I can pretend to add and
then press escape and the number increments up one each
time but that's 300+ away! Ugh. Any way to 'push' the
autonumber up to where it should be? I can't append
anything as I'm getting the key violation errors.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice. (P.S. I use the
autonum field to link child/master records in forms.)

I presume you've already tried to repair the database?
If not, do so...

If this doesn't remedy, try to import all the database objects
in a fresh/new mdb project?
You'll get a new set of system tables...
Don't forget to assign the startup options, if at all you've set
them in the original database.

Kindly repost yr progess

Have you installed all of the service packs? I seem to recall this was a
problem that was fixed by one of them.
