Internet Explorer 7 beta. I've been using it about two months and it
works great.

Cubic explorer has tabs, which soon will be reorganized to each
have its own "homepage".

I just installed ie7 beta and I can't get the folders to open up in it :(

As soon as I paste a directory into one of the tabs, it opens up a new
windows explorer window.

How are you getting tabbed folder windows in IE7? Is there an option or
something that I'm missing?

You've lost me. Why would you paste a directory onto a tab? Do you want
to view your directories using Internet Explorer? Why not just use
Windows Explorer?

The OP requested a Windows Explorer alternative.

"is there a tabbed windows explorer replacement that'll let me open up
favorite windows folders / directories in tabs?"

You (Bill T.) then recommended IE7 as a Windows Explorer alternative.

A neat program that I could not do without.
The favorites function really speeds up
managing, copying, replacing files and folders.
Read help for some great tips.
But it's not freeware...

John.

Why not just use Windows Explorer?

cool answer for someone who reviled me like "Because you are
careless about which version you are talking about" (two days
ago in the "Visual Studio Express is now free forever" thread).
Who is careless about what he's talking now? I think "tabbed
file explorer" is a _very_ clear subject for this thread.

explorer2-lite is freeware for sure

But we are not talking about explorer2-lite. We are talking about
xplorer2-lite, which requires a license after the 21 day free period
acording to the website.

John.

The way I read the site, it's the PRO version that is free for 21
days...not the Lite version.

Why don't you try out the pro version? It's free for 21 days so you've
got nothing to lose!

That was a typo, I was trying to talk about xplorer2-lite and it doesn't
need a license after 21 days..

Yes, I understand that now, thanks. I have given the correct URL for the
free version.

Guilty as charged. Never heard of a "tabbed file explorer", so my
feeble brain assumed it was Internet Explorer he meant. It wasn't
really carelessness on my part, just an assumption that he had erred in
the original question.
