You know where the time is located in the lower right corner in
Windows XP Home.

Well, I want to be able to force the DATE to float just slightly above
or below the current time.

I've searched and cannot find a app/software to do this for me.

Is their a SETTING I have missed?

Right click task bar and uncheck "Lock the taskbar" then resize the taskbar to two rows.

Good Luck, Ayush.

I found this nice little free program which gives me the time, day and
date. It has worked perfectly for me on XP Home for the past several
months: http://www.drive-software.com/freedesktopclock.html

I am using TClockEx on my WIN XP SP2 system without any problems, although
it took a bit of fiddling to select the right font and background color to
suit me.

Unlock the Taskbar, and resize it to two rows. The time should show Day
and Date then.

While you're looking at programs like that, Try TClock (a different
program from Tclockex), which is my favorite such program.

You wouldn't happen to have a link for that? I've been running tclockex
since win98 days, quite successfully on Win XP home since it was launched,
but I got it off a cover disc (mag & disc long since lost) If there's an
upgraded version I'd be interested.

It's not an upgraded version, it's a different program, by a different
author. I've always preferred TClock to Tclockex. I think it's worth
taking at a look at TClock and comparing the two.

There is a catch .

I'm pleased to hear it. I paid for my copy and the thought of people
getting it free almost put me off my food for a whole day. Actually,
I don't mind paying for software that does what it is supposed to do.
