Hi there!

I would like to know how to slow down the display speed of expanding the
system tray in windows xp. Coz, it's too fast in my pc and the animation
effect of the system tray expansion has gone. I want it back. I tried to
reconcile the registry, but I failed. How should I do it?

Thank you.

The problem is that when I click the around blue button with the white arrow
on the system tray, the speed of showing all icons is so quick. So how can
i slow it down? Thank you.

You can set the notification area to not hide inactive icons. Right click
on the notification area and choose Properties.

What exactly does "reconcile the registry" mean?
Why not just turn of the hiding of icons in the tray?

because i would like to get the animation effect back. so I tried to find
that item in the registry and make it back. But i cannot find any item in
the system registry to slow down the expansion speed. :(

two places to look:

Both in Control Panel:

Under Display -> Appearance -> Effects

and

System -> Advanced -> (Performance)Settings -> Custom

HTH :-)
