Systems Restore Problems

I recently upgraded from Windows XP Home to Windows XP
Pro. When I attempt to access "System Restore" I get the
following error message:

(Blue bar at top)
rundll32.exe - Entry Point Not Found

(message)
The procedure entry point
RemoteAccessPrepareSystemRestore could not be located in
the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll

I can't access the Systems Restore tab-- all of the other
tabs in the window appear, but no Systems Restore. Does
anyone know why and what to do about this?

Something seems to cause damage to winsta.dll - it should be in
windows\system32. Look for it, and r-click, rename to say winsta.dl
only. You should find that in a few seconds the file protection system
gets out a clean fresh copy from the ServicePackFiles folder - see if
that does it. I suspect what happens is that although the file is there
in the collected SP1 files folder, it has not for some reason actually
been put in place. So if you do not find it in windows\system32, look
in Windows\ServicePackFiles and copy it out

And - you posted this half an hour earlier. I have replied to both, but
will not do so again. Please note that it may be anything up to 24
hours before people get to see your queries, as they are spread all
round the world. DO not look on this facility as an interactive one
