When reviewing the SystemFolder in XP Professional we find
that sometimes the O/S has been installed in the C:/WinNT
or C:/Windows folders. Any Ideal why?

I will as soon as I find the answer. Best I can determine
so far is: it's the way XP is orriganly installed. A clean
install seems to have the O/S installed in the C:/WinNT
folder and an Upgrade from W2k creates the %SystemRoot% as
C:/WINDOWS.
I'll continue looking as I am a Systems Engineer for an
OEM and have a question from a customer. Regds; Lev

Greetings --

During a clean installation (or upgrade from Win98) the default
system folder is C:\Windows. If, however, the PC was upgraded from
WinNT or Win2K, the existing system folder of WinNT will be retained.
