Every time I start my computer (Dell Dimension 8300 running XP Pro) it opens
with a window titled "System32" open on the desktop. Is it trying to tell me
something? How can I stop it? Obviously not a major problem as it is easy
enough to close but it would be nice to find a solution and I would really
appreciate some help.

Thanks in anticipation,

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down
to Item No. 260. In the right column, click on "System32 Folder Opens
Upon Boot". Download this repair file and then run the repair.

Greetings --

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. It can also
be caused by an entry in these same keys that starts with a " / ."
