A folder in c:\system volume information is not accessible and is denied.
What is there, do I need it, can access be restored??? It throws off my FTP
program when it starts. I'm running sp2

The System Volume folder contains XP's System Restore points.
Try turning off System Restore, reboot, then turn it back on.

System Volume Information (SVI) is the System Restore store folder. Perhaps your FTP software's startup folder is configured to use SVI folder? Have you tried contacting the FTP software manufacturer/support?

Got it corrected...By default, the FTP program was starting up in System
Volume...Changed the startup folder. OK now...Thanks...

Great! And thanks for the feedback.

The System Volume Information is the hidden, protected operating
system folder in which WinXP's System Restore feature stores
information used to recover from errors. It's really not a good idea
for you, or any utilities or antivirus applications, to directly
access the contents of that folder, unless you expect to have no
future use for the restore points, in which case it would be simpler
just to turn off the System Restore feature.

However, if you're confident that you know exactly what you're doing:
