On my slave drive, I found a folder named "system volume information".
(2.8gb) I know this needs to be on my root drive, but do i need that folder
on my slave? If not, I dont know how it got there.

It's part of System Restore. If you want System Restore to monitor that drive, you need it.

To disable System Restore on that drive, right-click "My Computer", Properties, "System Restore"
tab, highlight the slave drive, click the "Settings" button, check the box, "Turn off System
Restore on this drive", click "OK", "Apply" and "OK".

Hi Daniel,

The System Volume Information folder is where System Restore holds it's
restore points. System Restore will place a SVI folder on every
drive/partition it sees. This includes external and some thumb/flash
drives. Disabling SR on a particular drive/partition should reduce the
size to the SVI folder it zero or close to it, but it will not remove
it. The SVI folder can not be removed permanently, if deleted it will
recreated automatically. If disabling SR does not empty the SVI folder,
use the following link to empty it manually.
