I have a problem with icons not showing up in the system tray when booting
up. The applications that they are for are running, but the system tray does
not show them. I have that option enabled in the applications. The two
applications that are not showing are Norton Internet Security and Removable
Storage Manager. If I log off and log back on, they do show up. All I can
figure is that one service is activating before the one it is dependant on.
I am not sure. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Notification Area - Icons Disappearing
This happens for most Auto-Logon users. To see what the three
methods/workarounds are visit the above site.

Notification Area - Hidden Chevron Missing
For some users setting the very first icon to Always Hide, restores the arrow.
This behavior seems to come into effect when one uses an icon on the System
Tray. Also be certain that the "behavior" of each of each icon is what you want
it to be. Right-click each, to make changes.

Why don't my Notification Area icons show or why do they disappear?
