Where do I remove items that show in my system tray? I
installed trackball software and now an icon shows up in
the system tray but the properties of the program don't
let me choose not to show in the system tray. It's also
on in my Startup group.

So, how does it always get put into the sys tray?

It apparently insinuates itself in the Startup group. If it did not, it
likely wouldn't work correctly.

You can hide the icon. Right-click an open area of the taskbar and click
CUSTOMIZE.

Click Start, Run, and type msconfig.exe. Select the
startup tab and make sure there is no check in the box
for the trackball software. Click apply, OK
