System state restore on a domain controller

If I back up the system state on a Windows 2000 domain controller, then
re-image it with a member server image then restore the system state back up
will that restore the DC back?
 
Nope... You'd have a different SID and all assigned to the computer. What
you need to so is a restore of the OS with the system restore disk.

Doesn't restoring the registry restore the sid?

Isn't the registry backed up with the System State?
