system shuts down

At various times, for no discernable reason, my system
announces that it will shut down & restart; specifically,
this is the message I receive:
"Shutdown initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM
The system process Windows/System32/lsass.exe terminated
unexpectedly with Status code - 1073741819"

Then it gives me time to save any data, but no option to
NOT shut down.
I'm not computer literate enough to know why this is
happening. Any help?

Hi eniale,
Your computer has probably been infected by the Sasser worm. Have a
look
here for further information:

If you haven’t done any windows updates, could also be the blaster,
welchia virii. Those 2 are about a year old, but still floating
around on the internet. Same thing holds true for those as the sasser
virus.
