System Shutdown

I keep getting a system shutdown box when I go online with BT ADSL.
The error is 'Windows must restart because the remote procedure CALL (RPC)
service terminated unexpectedly'.
Only got the pc on saturday so not a virus i don't think.
Windows xp sp1, Amd xp 2200+

Any help would be appreciated.

You do have a Virus. It's the msblast virus also known as the Lovsan Virus.
Go to the link below and it will explain how to get rid of it and to install
the patch to prevent being invaded again.

It can't be a virus. I have the latest virus updates and haven't downloaded
any progs yet.

it is a virus, do you have all the latest Windows Updates. Antivirus
software will not protect you. You need to enable your firewall and
download all the latest Windows Updates. All this info can be found in the
