System shutdown

I get the error message 'RPC service terminated unexpectedly'. I use Norton
AV, updated to 24/9/03 and only just completed a scan of everything. No
viruses. What else could it be? Or, what else could I try?

I DO NOT have a virus! I have checked that!

you need to check a bit harder. you do have a virus, you need to update
your virus definitions and do another scan. you also need to get all the
critical updates from Windows Update.

You got it while surfing the Web. Don't you know about
BLASTER?
The prevention lies in your firewall. Enable it.
Then do like Chris says. This should have never happened!
