system shutdown windows must now restart because the RPC service terminated

I get the following error and don't know how to fix it.
"System Shutdown. Windows must restart because the Remote
Procedure Call (RPC) Service terminated unexpectedly."
 
did u get help with this problem? we r having the same problem and can't get Norton's to work right
