I have had windows XP installed for over 2 years now but recently I keep
getting a message which tells me my computer is going to shut down in 60
seconds and there is nothing i can do to stop it...this message is from NT
system/authority...I don't know what that is. The other message i keep on
getting is an error from generic host process for Win32 series...i don't
know what this is either and it turns msn messenger off and it stops me from
using the internet..even if I am still connected to the internet!! These
problems happen up to 20 times a day and i'm sick of restarting my computer
so if anybody could help I would be very grateful. Thanks.

You have the Blaster wrom.
Go here and follow instructions:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/blaster.htm

You need to download and install all MS Critical Updates and Service Packs.

Then to keep your computer safe,  you need the following:

A good Anti-Virus scanner

A good firewall like Zone Alarm or the built in XP firewall
ZoneAlarm is available free at:

Ad-Aware 6.0 - for removing spyware

Spybot Search & Destroy - for removing spyware

CWShredder - gets rid of page hijackers

Google Toolbar  - for blocking popups

Before running these, do the following:

Delete temporary  internet files and internet history.

Hi Sara
I had the same problem in one of my computers, all I did to fix it was run the antivirus; it did find the virus known as "blaster", after the antivirus "kill" the virus I went to "windows update" and perform an update of my sistem (quite a lot updates i forgot to perfomr) after this I never had the same problem again. Also, you should have the firewall active just for a little extra-security

Hope this help you a little
