System running extremely slowly

Suddenly my system WinXp SP2 system started running extreeeemly slow, Task
manager reports CPU usage at 100%, with system using 99%. There are about
33 processes running. In safe mode, the system runs fine, just a fair few
things will not run of course. Any solutions?

Hi,

Start by working out any spyware problems:

Adaware www.lavasoft.de
Spybot www.safer-networking.org

Then, if performance is still in the basement, see if you can isolate it:

Are you using Trend Micro PC-cillin 2005?

Pattern file 594 seems to have caused this problem. You might want to look
here:
