When I go to system restore, I get the calendar but only
the current day is highlighted. Can't select any day
other that the present day, even though I have set a
manual check point on the previous day. The month arrows
at the top will not take me to a previous month. If I set
a manual check point on today and later in the day do a
restore it restores ok with no errors. Just can't select
any other restore points. Anyone got an idea?

If you can not view the previous day that means there are no restore points for the previous day. It seems that you are only able to save one restore point. The most likely reason for that is not having enough disk space allocated for system restore. To review System Restore settings, right-click "My Computer" on the desktop, select Properties, then the System Restore tab. If you have multiple drives/partitions, the check each on since the drive letter with the least free space will control the number of restore points you can create. You probably don't need SR on drives other than C: unless you are installing programs to that drive/partition. Post back with the current settings if you are unsure how to proceed.
