I have XP Professional. My system restore doesn't seem to work. The seetings
seem to be ok but anytime I try to do a system restore there are no restore
points other only the current day.

Thanks

John

John,

Your problem may be due to not having enough room set aside for additional
restore points to be created. Therefore everytime a restore point is made
it overwrites the one from before.

Hi Bert

Thanks for your response. I followed your instructions but don't know how to
access the clipboard after I have saved the responses. There are 7 or 8 error
messages from 11/5 to 11/13. The basic format is " The System Restore filter
encountered the unexpected error 'OxC0000024' while processing the file
'rsaenh.dll.new' on the volume 'Harddisc Volume2'. It has stopped monitoring
the volume. The other messages are the same except for different files being
processed.

Thanks again

John

Hi John,

After clicking in the button below the two arrows, right click in your response
to this group and select paste.

You can hold off on pasting the info and we will work on the error below.

Start by setting System Restore to monitor the partition Windows is installed on
only. Where there any other partitions being monitored?

Well it is still not working. I have set aside the maximum space for system
restore. I ran ad aware and cleaned my computer. I deleted temporary files
and history. It is not Servoce pack 2 because the problem existed before I
installed service pack 2. I have turned SR on and off. I set a restore point
2 days ago but it now indicated there are no rstore points. ????

Hi John,

Which Windows partition are you booting to when you receive these errors, C or
D?
Are you able to boot to more than one install of Windows?

You still there Bert? This is a confusing forum and I don't even know how I
ended up on two. Thanks for hanging in there.

To try to answer your question. My drive is not partitioned. I have two hard
drives 'C' and 'D' . The operating system is only on 'C' and I basically use
"d' to store pictures, etc.

Thanks again
John

Yes John, I am here.

After reviewing all the information, I would suggest performing a repair
install, then attempt installing Service Pack 2.

Then test System Restore
"JohnF" wrote

Hi Bert

Yes, I have done the repair from the disc before and it worked without me
losing anything except the size of my desk top icons. Right now I'm not
having a specific problem so I'll wait to do a repair and live without system
restore for now.

Thanks for all your time and trouble.
