Remove some of the non essential files to CD or delete them?

There's no way for us to tell you because we can't see your computer
from here. General suggestions:
1. Uninstall any programs such as games that you don't use.
2. Copy your data off your hard drive to an external hard drive and then
delete it from the original hard drive.
3. Make sure you've deleted Temporary and Temporary Internet Files.
4. If your hard drive is less than 40GB, replace it with a bigger one.
Even if you have a laptop, you can do this. Check your manual first for
limitations (heat issues with larger drives) if you have a laptop.
