Happy Thursday,

For some reason my computer just opens to my background picture, no
desktop so to speak. I can run programs with task manager. Is it possable to
run system restore via task manager and if so what is the path.

Thanks in advance

Andre

Hi Andre,

Restore Taskbar to Default Functionality (Line 164)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Note: Do not reboot or logoff. Once the edit is merged, right click the
Notification Area/Task Manager/Processes. Highlight Explorer.exe, End
Process.

Leave the Task Manager open. Once the process has ended, choose File/New
Task and type in: Explorer.exe.

Hi Kelly,

Thanks but the file will not open. I get the following message.

"windows cannot access the specified path, or file. you may not have the
appropriate permission to access the item"

The task manager only has two programs running Outlook express and internet
explorer.

I am not to sure what to try next I do not really want to re load XP. can I
run restore from elsewhere ??

Regards

Andre

Have your tried booting into Safe Mode (press F8 key before Windows XP logo)
and accessing System Restore from there? Before Safe Mode finishes loading,
a dialog box comes up asking if you want to go directly to System Restore,
opt for that.
