System Restore

I have used System Restore on many occasions for a couple of years now and
it almost always does restore. I have found that sometimes it says it can't
after several different attempts but from experience I have thought it would
not work if I tried to revert to a time over 2 weeks ago. Today I could not
restore to dates 3, 4, and 6 days back. Does anyone have any ideas as to why
this happens so I can avoid this problem? Stan

System Restore is not a cure for all problems, and is certainly not a
substitute for a backup. But it is a very useful feature, one that has
gotten me and many others out of trouble many times.

To answer Stan's question, it doesn't happen often, but unfortunately System
Restore points sometimes get corrupted. When that happens, all you can do is
turn it off and then back on again. That causes the loss of existing restore
points, but they are no good anyway.

advice. BTW, SR has saved me from grief many times and it's worth its weight
