System Restore

My computer has started acting weird lately and I don't really know why. I
need to restart it quite often after only using a few programs because it
either freezes or is so ungodly slow, that I can't stand it. It sometimes
takes 5 minutes to open up a program. Also when this slowdown happens, I
can't use the internet either, or no e-mail will go out or come in. I have
DSL as my internet also. I ran a spyware scan, and nothing showed up except
for some spyware cookies, which I deleted. My antivirus software is up to
date and I run Norton's firewall. I have deleted my temp internet files as
well. Yesterday I did a chkdsk and defrag. So, I really don't know what else
to try except maybe a system restore to an earlier date. Do you think I
should do this? And if I do choose this option, will everything that I have
installed or uninstalled be gone? I am asking this because I just renewed my
antivirus and firewall update program a couple of days ago. And there are
probaly alot of other things I did that I just don't remember. One really
weird thing I do know is that I did not start having this problem until I
made my recovery Dvd's about a week ago. I don't know if this has anything to
do with it, or why it would, but maybe the timing is just a coinencidence.
So, if anyone has a suggestion for me, I would appreciate it.
Thank-you,
Kemm

Hi,
To start with we will need to know your system specifications CPU, RAM, OS
version etc...

How many programs are starting up at windows logon? Having a lot of programs
can cause the system to run very slow, especially if you have a low-end
system.

Using "System Restore" will uninstall any programs you have installed
between the date you select to go back to and the current date, but you will
not lose any saved work. It will also re-install "some" programs, these are
usually windows default programs.
